Job Summary:

The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for the development, administration, and/or delivery of company-wide training, education and staff development programs for all levels of WEL staff.

 

Essential Resposibilities: 

  • The Learning and Development Specialist supports the needs analyses process to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs for WEL staff, both clinical and non-clinical.
  • Confers with managers and supervisors to determine employee training and development needs.
  • Assigns modules and training plans in LMS (Relias).
  • Designs instructional content such as job aids, instructional supports, how-to videos or screencasts.

Education or Degree Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development or related program.

Licenses, Certifications Registrations:

  • American Heart Association CPR & First Aid Instructor status or certification ready trained in CPR and First Aid.

Related Experience & Knowledge:

  • Three to five years’ experience in staff development, curriculum development or instructional design.
  • Experience in long term care environment helpful.
  • Experience in training and development, mentoring of staff, including practical knowledge of effective methods of classroom training. 
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and evidence-based engagement strategies.
