The Lead Med Certified Personal Care Aide is responsible of day to day care of resident which includes ADLS, IADLS, light housekeeping, and assisting residents with medication abiding to Personal Care Regulations. In addition, this Med Certified Personal Care Aide Team Leader acts as a mentor to all Personal Care Aides (PCA) and Med Certified Personal Care Aides (PCA).

 

Essential Responsilities:

  • Provide leadership to PCA’s and provides department orientation to newly hired PCA’s.
  • Assist Personal Care Director with shift schedules and bi-weekly payroll.
  • Prepare a daily work assignment for each PCA’s in the absence of supervisor and communicate pertinent information relating to resident care.
  • Daily use  chart to chart report to communicate routine reporting to the PCA who is coming on duty.
  • Assist with New Resident Admission process.
  • Encourages, engages and participates in therapeutic activity programs.
  • Demonstrate the” Five Rights” of giving medication Corresponds with pharmacy as needed.
  • Administer and document medications and treatments per physician orders.
  • Report medication errors.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Qualifications

Related Experience:

  • Three years experience as a Med Certified Personal Care Aide.

Education or Degree Requirements:

  • Completion of high school diploma or GED

 

Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:

  • Medication administration certificate issued by DPW; Diabetes Education Certificate.
