Position Summary
The Floor Care Worker is responsible for performing specialized floor cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that all floor surfaces in the community are clean, polished,
and well maintained. This role involves operating floorcare equipment, applying appropriate cleaning techniques and ensuring floor surfaces are safe and presentable. The Floor Care Worker will also perform other duties as required.
Essential Duties and Functions
• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of floors in residential units, commonareas, dining facilities, hallways, and other designated spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, or perform other techniques on floors usingappropriate equipment and cleaning agents to ensure all surfaces remain clean and
sanitized.
• Inspect floors for damage, cracks, or wear and tear, and notify appropriate maintenance personnel for repairs.
• Maintain and clean floor care equipment, including buffers, scrubbers, vacuums,and carpet extractors, after each use.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or deficiencies to management for repair or replacement.
• Communicate and interact effectively and courteously with internal and external customers.
• Address any floor care concerns or requests promptly and efficiently.
• Ensure that all floor surfaces are safe and free of hazards, such as slippery areas or uneven surfaces.
• Follow safety protocols while handling cleaning chemicals, equipment operation, and working in resident areas utilizing the proper PPE.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards set by WEL, local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA guidelines and infection control protocols including reporting safety or other hazards to supervisor.
• Ensure chemicals are properly secured, labeled, and used appropriately.
