The Dining Manager is responsible to make a compelling difference in the lives of our residents through providing excellence and innovation in aging services. The Dining Manager is to be responsible for monitoring and promoting a pleasurable dining experience for our residents and their guests in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with Wesley Enhanced Living (WEL) established policies and procedures, and support the management and supervisory staff, to assure that quality service is provided at all times.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintains effective and efficient dining services, positive resident and visitor relations, and ensures products and staff services are consistent with quality and excellence standards.
  • Assists General Manager with Interviews, hires, training, supervision, and retention of qualified Dining Servers, hosts and Bistro staff to carry out the responsibilities of the community’s dining services department.
  • Serve residents promptly in an orderly and well-mannered way, following accepted standard meal service routines.
  • Conduct nightly sanitation checks of the dining room.
  • Effectively supervise the dining staff to ensure dining staff are meeting food storage compliance.
  • Communicate any work orders or equipment problems to supervisor.
  • Assist the dining management team with carrying out the responsibilities of the community’s Dining Services department ( i.e. Opening and closing responsibilities; handling the entire kitchen).
  • Works collaboratively with other departments meeting job requirements and resident service needs.
  • Complies with, supports and enforces all dining services policies and procedures including safety, infection control and sanitation ensuring staff adherence.
  • Purchases dining services supplies within assigned budgets and through company approved distribution sources and vendors.
  • Ensures adherence to quality assurance processes by routinely auditing (i.e., meal service, dining, safety, sanitation, and meal satisfaction) the Dining and Bistro areas.
  • Completes other tasks as required.

Qualifications

Education or Degree Required: 

  • As a minimum High School Education or equivalent.

 

Related Experience:

  • 2-4 Years of previous experience in food services (restaurant experience preferred).

Other Skills:   

  • This individual must be able to speak, read, write, understand and follow verbal/written instructions in the English language.
  • Communicate in a professional and understandable manner in order to communicate with residents, employees, family members, volunteers and the public.
  • Possesses the ability to follow instructions, work well with others and maintain a good rapport with residents.
