The Corporate Director, Consumer & Talent Acquisition Marketing conceives, recommends, and executes all WEL communications strategies and tactics to grow brand awareness and inquiries among potential residents and employee candidates to the WEL organization. This individual must be able to skillfully harness, integrate, and manage the talents and abilities of a wide variety of staff and external resources in order to launch a diversified spectrum of digital and traditional communications campaigns, and value-added services targeted toward WEL internal and external stakeholders.


Corporate Director, Consumer & Talent Acquisition Marketing essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • In strategic collaboration with corporate senior leadership, conceive and implement marketing communications and sales support programs that effectively communicates the WEL value proposition for potential residents and employees.
  • Utilize cross channel approaches that incorporate extensive Digital strategies to include SEO, PPC, social media, blogs, websites, along with traditional media, public relations, special events and partnerships.
  • Establish and develop KPI’s for consumer and talent acquisition tactics, with objectives, and report regularly to senior leadership as to the results of all campaigns and programs. Must demonstrate an ROI from communications expenditures.
  • Design, launch and build ongoing content for all WEL consumer websites. Create and maintain new microsites for WEL communities. Develop SEO, PCC, and social media programs including but not limited to:  paid and organic search strategies, Facebook and Linkedin posting/boosting, Instagram, Twitter – with goal of month over month WEL website conversions. Develop blogs and resident/employee video testimonials with goal of viral outcomes.
  • Manage content and design for WEL careers website, including all SEM strategies, recommend new branding initiatives for WEL with focus on being an employer of choice, maintain career social sites with refreshed content (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Glassdoor, etc.)
  • Create unique WEL brand positioning position templates for key roles in WEL organization: nursing, dining, facilities maintenance, programming, housekeeping, etc.
  • Create and execute ongoing direct mail, eblasts, print advertising, local TV spots to drive month-over-month growth in consumer inquiries. Recommend and execute traditional media approaches to support talent acquisition goals.
  • Create annual cross channel media selection strategy and plans; manage annual budgets for consumer and talent acquisition marketing communications, including, but not limited to: digital-SEO, PPC, websites, direct mail, print, TV, special events, outdoor; manage and track annual/monthly expenditures; analyze and report on budget variances; prepare annual competitive analyses
  • Lead a diversified team of talent that includes marketing manager, administrative assistant, digital agency/consultants, agency-based public relations associates, freelance designers, copywriters, direct mail houses, printers, and photographers in developing tactics and/or materials that ideally communicate the WEL brand for all audiences; oversee vendor relationships and identify, evaluate, contract and manage new vendors as needed.; make decisions relative to the selection, promotion, utilization, retention and compensation of these resources
  • Direct digital and traditional media buying process; authorize PPC/traditional media purchases and negotiate rates
  • In collaboration with WEL senior leadership, direct PR program/firm in developing strategic and tactical initiatives that result in raising awareness of WEL’s value propositions for consumers and employees. Manage the writing, editing and distribution of materials generated by the public relations firm including articles, press releases, media alerts, and calendar listings for print and electronic media.
  • Continually assess consumer CRM platforms; arrange for the training of sales team on the system and provide problem resolution with data entry and report generation; design and implement variety of reports that measure all campaigns; ensure the integrity of data and its use in corporate reports.
  • Support consumer sales teams with conception and promotion of open houses/special events and direct marketing programs that aim to attract new prospects; develop metrics to measure the outcomes of these events and programs.
  • Conceive and project-manage the design/writing/production of collateral materials for prospective residents and employees, WEL staff and residents, and business and community leaders. The range of materials includes, but is not limited to direct mail, brochures, eblasts, telesales scripts, signage, and resident newsletters
  • Develop and implement enhanced living communications support strategy (ie –‘WEL Wishes’) that regularly communicates the Enhanced Living philosophy and WEL’s unique approach to senior living
  • Conduct presentations to senior management team and community staff on communications strategies, programs and initiatives, as required


Experience: 5+ of marketing communications management, as well as successful track record in digital/traditional marketing, sales support, public relations and special events; Prior experience working with digital marketing communications/PR agencies or within a corporate marketing department, as well as experience managing relationships with outside vendors that include web consultants, graphic designers, printers, videographers and photographers; Prior experience in consumer and talent acquisition communications campaigns; Background to include working for sales driven organizations who understand the idea of ‘total customer experience’; Proven results in conceptualizing, developing, writing and managing design for production for a wide variety of marketing/sales support communications, both digital and print; Preferred Industries/Sectors: aging services, health care


Education or Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree required in marketing, public relations, advertising, or related area required
